These are eight areas that we trust each of our students will abide by during the course of their time here. They should not be considered rules but standards to be embraced and lived up to that encourage healthy living as a member of Christ's body. They will result in your success in the NLSW school year and as a person for the rest of your life.
"As a Student of the NLSW, I will:"
Apply myself wholeheartedly to my intellectual, spiritual and musical pursuits and to use the power of my mind to the glory of God.
Grow in my spirit by developing my own relationship with God.
Develop my body with sound health habits by completing the required Health & Fitness Course and by participating in wholesome physical activities.
Cultivate good social relationships and love others as myself. I will not lie; I will not steal; I will not curse; I will not be a gossip. I will not cheat or plagiarize; I will do my own academic work and will not inappropriately collaborate with other students on assignments.
Keep myself separate from all immoral and illegal actions and communications. I will not take any illegal drugs or misuse any drugs; I will not engage in or attempt to engage in any illicit, unscriptural sexual acts, which include any homosexual activity and sexual intercourse with one who is not my spouse through traditional marriage of one man and one woman. I will not drink alcoholic beverages of any kind; I will not use tobacco.
Maintain a mentality of openness to God's claims on my life and to do my best to know and follow his will for my life.
Attend class, all required devotionals, staff meetings, and required events.
Abide by the rules and regulations of the NLSW. I understand that the NLSW is a private institution, and as such, that I have no vested rights in the governing of the school. I accept attendance at the NLSW as a PRIVILEGE and NOT a right and that the NLSW reserves the right to require the withdrawal of any student at any time.
