The New Life School of Worship is a nine-month program composed of three class modules and a three-week intensive. Throughout the duration of the program, students will also complete Ministry Fulfillments. Additionally, students will take private lessons during the class modules. Students will be evaluated on the basis of class participation and intensive grades, private lessons performance, and the completion of Ministry Fulfillments. At the end of the program, based on a composite evaluation from the three modules and the intensive period, outstanding students will be eligible to have their resumes posted on the New Life School of Worship website and receive an endorsement from the school.

FULL TIME STUDENTS

CLASS MODULES
Module 1: Class Module (10 weeks) Pastoral Ministry; Biblical Foundations of Worship; Christian Growth and Development; Organizational Communications; Worship Choir.

Intensives (3 weeks) Students will participate in a three-week intensive which will cover topics such as Basic Audio, Studio Recording, and Music Technology; Worship Choir.

Module 2: Class Module (10 weeks) Practical Ministry Leadership; Practical Music Theory; Understanding the Psalms; Directing a Band; Ministry Lab.

Module 3: Class Module (10 weeks) Worship Practicum; Systematic Theology; Worship Songwriting; Applied Music Theory; Ministry Lab.

MINISTRY PARTICIPATION
New Life School of Worship students will receive a ministry grade for their participation in the following areas:

Worship Services: Students will be required to attend our Sunday morning services at New Life Church as part of their ministry participation.

New Life Church Staff Chapel: The New Life Church Staff meets on the first Thursday of each month for a time of worship, prayer and teaching. Students will be required to attend this meeting as part of their ministry participation. 

World Prayer Center Leading: Students will lead worship for one hour in the WPC with a partner on a weekly basis. 

Weekly Student Chapel services: Students and staff will gather every Tuesday from 9:45-10:45am for chapel. Students will hear from staff and respected leaders in the New Life family. 

Team meetings: Students will be placed on teams and will meet with their teams twice a month on Sundays from 3:00-5:00pm. 

Discipleship small groups: Students will be placed in a discipleship group with a discipleship leader from the New Life worship family. Groups will meet twice a month on Sundays from 3:00-5:00pm.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Students are expected to take voice lessons during two class modules, as well as study an accompaniment instrument of either guitar or piano for the other class module as part of the School of Worship curriculum. Lessons are taken during the ten weeks of each class module. The New Life School of Worship will provide the students with a pre-approved list of  qualified instructors, and all students will take lessons from these individuals.

Other Local Churches and Ministries: In the course of a year, students may be called to serve in worship at another local church in the community. Colorado Springs is home to many churches and ministries: Focus on the Family, Compassion International, Every Home for Christ, Biblica, the Navigators... just to name a few. Students are welcome to serve or volunteer at another local church or any para-church ministry gaining experience in a field of choice, beginning in January. For those from the city who are currently serving at a local church, alternative arrangements may be made to fulfill your requirements for local church involvement.
